Late

I am behind in time,
Or in future tense perspective,
Early in this genuflecting,
Speculating spectrum of western civilization.

White rabbit warbling
For an end ensorcering
An enforcer of the worst sort,
Backs up traffic just for sport.

And consorts encamping in the rafters
Don’t care much for ever after,
Stuck inside the moment but that’s ever all there is
Unless you catch a glimpse of how reality really wraps around,
And there the past, present, and future can be found.

  1. Nifty! I enjoy the dream-like logic and surprising images here–and the ending couplet really nails it down convincingly.
