Luna(r)

He never asked she change
Her coloration,
She was the moon and white and always would be,
Or her phases,
He knew she would wax and she’d wane, it was plain,
He didn’t even ask she be faithful,
Just that she’d
Always be
True.

But she could not muster,
Hid her face behind the bluster,
And then begged for him to trust her,
And he gave her this
Well past
Its due.

But the wane would make its waves,
And she would her fancies take,
Never taking moment
To hear his
Heart
Breaking,
Shaking continents
With her
Promises
Slaking.

Some suns don’t rise
But on the tide of vacuum,
Are vacant but to the pulse
Of orbs and orbits
Far off
Long gone,
Knowing happiness
Because they’ve had
Silence
All
Along.
